Marisa is a researcher in the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Stellenbosch University and the South Africa Medical Research Council Centre for Tuberculosis Research, based in Cape Town. Marisa is interested in the epidemiology and diagnosis of tuberculosis, as well as the physiology of the bacteria that can be exploited to facilitate detection.
